“I remember him well. Often after sixty years it’s difficult to recall our past school chums, but he stands out.

A great character and a credit to the North East, from whence my family came.

We both played cricket together in a very successful St Bees team captained by Laxton. For my part I have just retired as President of Oxton Cricket Club (Cheshire County Cricket League) after six years.”
